Can I fit a shower enclosure in a wetroom without needing a tray?

Hello,

I recently moved into a 1930's terraced house. The house was dated so I've been busy upgrading it all. It was owned by an elderly lady who had a wet room installed 6 months before I bought it. The only downsides are a cheap looking shower curtain rail and heavy duty vinyl flooring. I can live with the flooring but the shower curtains do not stop water getting to the rest of the room and I'm fed up mopping every morning after a shower. Is it possible to fit just a shower enclosure without a tray?

Thanks

yes very much so but a lot depends on the available room size.

search for walk in wet room shower enclosures, the enclosure can be screwed to the floor and if there is a decent fall towards the drain then a frameless door can be used.

Again the size of the bathroom/bathroom door location has to be taken into account,if nothing suitable off the shelf then consider a bespoke enclosure or just glass panels to keep the spray contained.

As I said in the other thread

"" Yes BUT the fixings to the floor may compromise the floor and create the potential for leaks. The leaks may take some time ( months ) to develop depending on how fleicible the floor is and how rigid the shower cubicle frame is. ( or the other way, rigid floor and flexible cubicle frame )

Using shower curtains that reach the floor and have weights in the bottom hem will significantly reduce the amount of water that "escapes" from the shower area. ( as in my cubicle free shower ) ""

Yes and as you were told in the other thread as well but have chosen to ignore proper wet room screens do not need to be fixed to the floor.

What's the difference?

Enclosures and cubicles tend to have connections / fixings to the floor with the fixings penetrating the floor.

Screens ( for showers ) tend to be wall or ceiling hung without any fixings to the floor.

So what would you call the glass shower walls I installed in a wet room with no fixing through wall , floor or ceiling.?[/QUOTE]

Incredible, unbeleivable, but obviously more than possible. Come on, how did you you do it.

This is something that could be stood free standing on a wet room floor click me

Still a high risk of it being knocked over if someone slipped over while inside it.

He said no fixings, but he said nothing about sealant or ahesive. Good thought though Bernard.
