Hi
My house has got some quite old UPVC windows in it, and several of them have terrible drafts seeping in where the opener meets the rubber seals (so much so that cobwebs blow in the 'wind'!!). We can't afford to have them all replaced though so I wondered if it's something I can fix myself?
To clarify, taking the example of a rectangular bathroom windows where the opening is at the top, when I shut the window and pull the latch down to lock it, there's still a 2mm or 3mm gap between the plastic and the rubber seal, particularly at one end.
I guess my questions are
a) Can I adjust the mis-alignment myself? If so, how?
b) Can I replace the black rubber seals myself?
Lastly, if I can't do a or b, are their window compaies who would take on a small repair jobs like this, and how much is it likely to cost? I live in Derby, Derbyshire.
Many thanks for any help
