Hi guys.

I have an issue where the the dog (big german shepherd) wees all over the slabs and it dries causing a horrid smell. When we hose it down there isnt anywhere for the water to go, it just sort of speads the wee out and dries again

The slabs meet an area of block paving. I was thinking of putting a channel drain where they join so the water has somewhere to go. My garden is too small to have a soakaway, i cant get one 2.5m away from boundary or buildings, and i dont really want to rip up the garden to connect to the main drain.

Is there anything stopping me from ripping up the row of block paving where it meets the slabs, digging out a trench a foot and a half deep, filling it with gravel and dropping a channel drain on top?

So it wont be a soakaway as such, just a bit of gravel for the water to drain to under the channel deain. The way i see it, there isnt anything stopping me from ripping out a row of block paving and filling it to the top with gravel, so whats wrong with having a channel plonked on top for aesthetics?

Regards
