Hello.
In the living room of my house there was a gas pipe standing out from the floor. I guess that it remains after a gas fireplace which used to be there. Recently I have built a new fireplace - it's decorative thing only as we are not going to light the fire there. We have just covered the pipe. How does it look from legal point of view? If I want to sell my house in the future is it enough to inform a buyer there is a gas pipe and the fireplace is decorative only? Or do I need to disconnect it?

I am attaching a picture showing location of the gas pipe.

Thank you for answers.

Always better to remove if it's still live. Either that or sever it from the main supply at the tee and then cap it so it can be re-connected if ever needed.
