Can I remove this door frame?

I need to remove door frame. My problem is, there is no lintel above door frame. It is on ground floor. House is old council house. It is semi detatched house Can i still safely remove the door frame ? View media item 48022 View media item 48023 View media item 48024

It might help if youi could explain the situation, i.e ground floor, first floor, in a masonry wall, in a Victoriam terrace, etc. At first sight it looks like the door casing isn't really supporting anything, but there's insufficient data in your post to be able to make any sort of sensible recommendation
