Can I repair my Flymo Vision Compact 380 mower?

I have a Flymo Vision Compact 380 hover mower.

Last time I tried to use it nothing happened when I held the grip of the power switch in place.

I have now looked at the state of the mower in a little more detail. When the power switch is operated 240, ac volts are present at the terminals of the motor unit. But there is no movement or sound from the motor.

Anything sensible I can do to try to repair the mower? Or should I just take it to the local Tidy Tip and then look for a replacement?

The only thing you can do is to see if the carbon brushes aren't either worn down to nothing or stuck in their holders - other than that its a trip to the great lawn in the sky, unfortunately....unless ebay comes to your rescue.

If you are on a budget, or just tight (like me) you might get a "donor" here for your own.

But if you try tapping the motor when switched on (careful about the blade) it just might kick back into life (bad connection internally)?
