Looks like its been a slow leak from the stopcock area. Actual connections seem ok, can i just unscrew the stopcock assem and fit a new one, any idea if this is available from wickes?

The Water main comming out of the floor is 1/2" Galvanized Steel looks Very old, the stop-cock is a 1/2" BSP type - you would not beable to get one of these off the shelf at B&Q or Wickes. I would advise you get a plumber in for this one the galvanized pipe would need holding against with stillsons whilst the valve was unscrewed, if there is corrosion on the pipe the pipe could just collapse when disturbed so I would leave well alone! as previous poster suggested try tightening the vlave spindle gland nut first to see if this stops the leak! ;)

Thanks chaps, yes boilerman on the button there indeed galvanised steel.

Ok well ill try tightening the gland nut and see if that helps. Otherwise time to call a plumber me thinks.
