Hi
We have removed the carpets on our stairs and would like to paint them.
However there is a turn on the stairs and the landing on the turn is chipboard, the problem is that the chipboard is about 5mm lower than the top of the nose so it is probably a bit of a trip hazard and would look a bit weird.
So does anyone know if/how I can replace the chipboard with a thicker piece of plywood or floorboards?
Unfortunately I can't get to the underneath of the stairs, I assume that I can remove the skirting board (purple) but I think the string (green) will be in the way of putting in a new piece?
Anyone have any ideas?
thanks for your help
