Can I use APD to prime a wall for plaster

Hope this isn't a silly question. I have a small wall which had wallpaper on it. I've removed the wallpaper and the plaster looks a little scruffy. It's been painted and everything looks sound. I've given it a good sanding to get anything loose off and I'm ready to give it a new coat of plaster using Pink Multi Finish (I'm what you call an enthusiastic DIY'er). Now what I'd like to know is can I use BAL APD to prime the wall first instead of using PVA? I tried a test patch and left it a couple of days and the plaster seems to be really stuck on. Would it be safe to try it out on the whole wall?

Many thanks for reading this, any input will be appreciated.

For the sake of a few quids worth of PVA why not stick with the usual method, and use two coats of PVA - when the second coat goes tacky then you skim.

Thanks Vinn. Simple answer is that I don't have any PVA but do have APD as I used it when tiling the bathroom, hence why I wondered if it would be ok to use.
