Hi all,

I've got an old sectional concrete panel garage with a concrete floor that i have a small area on (about a foot wide) that is constantly damp and sometimes has water on it. I can't see that it's coming in through the walls but i can't see any "obvious" cracks in there and it's not coming in through the roof so i'm "assuming" it's coming up through the floor as our area does hold water a lot but as it's such a small area i only really need to treat this so would i be ok to just put a few coats or Black Jack Bitumen paint on it ? I'm thinking a liquid DPM or Rubberised paint might be better but as it's so small and i can't guarantee it's coming up then i wanted to just use something i already have if possible as a first port of call ?
I'm not there at the moment so don't have a photo of it.
I'm only going to put plastic shelving on there and so there's not going to be any foot traffic.
Thanks

You can try but it may well fail depending on the water pressure or it might just come in elsewhere. Waterproof barriers rarely work when fixed to the inside with nothing to hold them in place.
