Can i use central heating pump instead of shower pump?

Can you please help?
I have a 1 meter head from cold water tank in loft to shower head but its not enough to give me the power i need for a decent shower.
Shower pump is too noisy for where i am.
Can i use a central heating pump in the feed from my hot water cylinder to the shower? The cold to shower will be from mains.
I realise that it might be unbalanced but i do not have much choice as it stands without changing the whole system.
If so is there an automatic cerntral heating pump that would turn on upon turning the hot water on?

Only the Grundfos home booster pump would do that at about £100.

But they only increase by up to 1/2 Bar pressure but they are very quiet.

Thank you Tony. I have looked at the pump you said and it seems a good one.
Can i put it under the bath? I have enough room.
Would you know if i already have a 1 meter head of water and another extra 1/2 bar with this pump as you said, might give me about 10 liters/min out of shower? That is all the flow i am looking for and it means i do not have to change my cold tank to a bigger one. Thanks

There are showers on the market that use the power of the cold mains supply in order to power the hot supply cannot think of the technical name at the mo ?? Hydro???? something or another , some one will know !


Might be an option ? than again it might not be ?

There are also low head showers which will give you a good flow. That's got to be better than fitting a pump.

i agree that using a low pressure mira shower is the better option

If your cold tank is undersized it will need to be replaced.

A 10 min shower at 10 li/min is going to need 100 li of storage less what is replemished.

That pump can go under the bath. Probably it should be fed by an RCD.

Trevi Boost and it has to use the shower head fitted with it, other heads don't work for some reason.

A venturi system is expensive. Pump suggested by Tony will cost £100 and as i have been told very quite. It seems all i need to do is just add the pump in the hotwater pipe under the bath. With RCD will cost around £110 + a sunday.

I have fitted a few of these pumps and you should be advised that they need a socket as they come on a fitted plug with only 1.5m of wire.
Should you tamper with said plug warranty will be void and I doubt very much you can put a socket under your bath.
