Hi guys,

In the process of extending my patio by about 6m2. Our neighbourhood is built on sand and it can clearly be seen when you dig down.

Now I've got 400kg of sand coming tomorrow to make the bed onto which to lay the slabs. Now I'm digging out loads of sand for the sub base so I was just wondering if I could just remove the stones, wash and reuse the sand I'm digging out of the yard rather than paying money for new sand and for a skip to get rid of the garden sand?

Thanks
Andy

We have used excavated material for blinding but it would (probably) not be suitable for mixing with cement unless it was washed.

Thanks Noseall.

I guess I will have to skip the sand as other than running the hose on it I've got no way of cleaning it.
