Hi,
I'm currently having a patio installed, and for the steps I wanted a rustic looking brick to be used as the face (The veritical part on the steps). We were unable to find any nice ones, but I found these 'Brick slips' (Which are basically just bricks cut thinly into tile shapes). They look perfect! However the builder is very much against using them as he says that water will just get behind them, freeze and then eventually they will fall off. And instead he has opted for some standard bricks which don't really match the rest of the garden or patio. Is what he saying true, or is he more likely just trying to make the job easier for himself? The slips say they work for external use so I thought they would have been fine? But I'll appreciate peoples inputs! Thanks!
