Can this orange worktop material be identified?

Hi all,

I have looked everywhere online for a match to this orange worktop.

I've no idea what material it is, nor do I have access to it or know who's house it is.

There are several orange worktop samples coming my way but none of them seem to be the same as this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Marc

I wonder if its Corian? As it looks partially translucent.

As you can see on these images you can light it up if the density/opacity colour choice is right.

This photo has rounded edges.

Hope that helps.

I have orange Corian in my work and it does not look like that. The orange in work is totally solid with no texture to it that the picture you have shown has.

Equally Corian is easy to scratch (but can be polished out) but there is no chance you could have a chopping board made out of Corian.

It could be a quartz or some sort of orange stone/marble.

It was just a guess, maybe you have the solid Corian, not the illumination translucent series?

I wouldn't have thought it would be Quartz. Maybe but I cant make out any elements on the OP's image that would indicate it. It looks too uniform.

Couldn't say for sure - it looks like it could potentially be resin, but I couldn't say that with any positivity.

The finish in your image looks pretty scratched and worn, which makes me think this probably isn't the best work? I wouldn't be looking for an exact match for this reason.

If you want something similar in colour and pattern, I'd suggest looking into onyx, which you can get in a range of orange tones. I have included one example:

I can ID this, give me 24 hours. I've just done a website for a kitchen worktop company and I recognize this worktop

Let me ask him and I'll let you know what he says.

I've spoken to my guy, he suggests its an acrylic, maybe Corian (as has been said). He's pretty knowledgeable. Not sure if that information helps you or not pal

Hi Mario,

I have received the Corian sample in Citrus Orange and it does not seem to be what I am looking for. The Corian is opaque whereas the product that I am looking looks to be translucent.

I'm still not sure but am swaying towards Onyx as suggested by jamie86.

no idea then pal, you'd of thought someone must know. Its definitely an acquired taste though - it looks porous, so I'm not sure how well it would even work as a kitchen surface.

Can you imagine 10ft of work surface in this stuff in Orange
