Can you dry like (fill) non tapered plasterboard

The plasterboard I want (fire board tapered) does not com in 2x4ft sizes. If I put standard plasterboard (not tapered) would that still work if I dry line it?

That would depend on what "still work" is supposed to mean?

You can tape and fill square edge boards, the filler just needs to be wider to feather in the join.
If you need fire boards and are using normal then double the up.

But he still could tape and fill it and have the fire protection that he would miss by using standard stuff.
