Can you ever build on greenbelt land ?

Hi does anyone know if there is anyways round greenbelt land. my dad has a farm but its all greenbelt he would give me the land i need but i wouldnt get planning permittion!. Does anyone know maybe if you built an eco house or something that you would stand more chance of getting plans passed. any help would be great thanks

The no green belt building policies are not absolute - it depends on the location, the specifics and the merits of the application.

But a new home application of any type, will be resisted unless there are exceptional reasons for it - and "I just want to build a house there" is not really exceptional
