Have to install new smoke alarms before end of Feb thanks to new Scottish law. Currently have 2 hardwired Deta 1111 in upstairs and downstairs landing which are due for replacement anyway but can I replace the hardwired ones with other hardwired and add another wireless one with a wireless heat alarm.
Don't want to redecorate after a sparky does whatever they have to do to add more wiring or am I better off just going wireless for everything?

Cheers

Look at the Acio 3000 series.
Combination of hard wired and wireless devices.
Had a look and they seem to be hardwired with a rechargeable li-on battery or an I not understanding it correctly?

They all require wiring for power. As supplied they can also be linked with a wire (a 3rd core in the cable).
If you want to link two or more together without a link cable (each one supplied from a local power source only), they require a plug-in module https://www.aico.co.uk/product/ei3000mrf-smartlink-module/
If they are all linked wirelessly, all of them need that module.
If some have a wired link, then all of the wireless ones need the module, plus one of the alarms on the wired set so they can communicate with the wireless ones.
