candy cdi454-80... dishwasher is making a humming sound??

Hope you can help. Got a candy cdi454-80.. making a humming sound then not doing anything else.. has anyone else experienced similar problems with theirs?
The machine hasn't been used for a number of months.. i've tried putting water in the bottom to moisten the seal but it begins it's cycle briefly before making a loud humming sound and then stopping completely??
Please help!!!

does it fill with water at the start ?? or just hum

check for a leak in the base
