The symptoms I was suffering during wash cycles varied, but included:
- Options such as "stain vanish" & "fast wash" switching themselves off.
- Machine stopping during emptying & reporting a none existent filter blockage.
- Unable to select some programs.
My solution:
- Unplug from mains (but still be careful as high voltages may still be present)
- Remove top.
- Unclip two wires connected to program selector.
- Pull selector knob off front.
- Use a screwdriver to gently prise front lugs holding selector mechanism & remove from rear.
- Carefully prise lugs to withdraw components including the pcb (do not damage).
- Clean all contacts with fine grade wet&dry and/or cotton bud dipped in meths.
- When contacts clean of tarnish and any debris use a screwdriver to give the rotating contacts a little more lift and therefore pressure against the pcb when assembled.
- Carefully reassemble & refit!
This procedure has worked for me twice now. Lasts about a year or so, but must be susceptible to moisture.
Hope this procedure helps somebody else!
