Candy w/machine-strange noise

Hi
Have a Candy washer/dryer Alise CE10 about 5 yrs old.
noise when agitating, sounds like a humming/buzzing noise, quite loud,
Noise comes and goes but has got worse over the last couple of weeks ie
there more of the time.
Noise never there when spinning.
Any help, Cheers

Maybe the bearings starting to go (less load on them when spinning).

when it's full of water and clothes does the drum actually rotate? if not your machine may have an induction motor which requires a good capacitor to give it a kick start. sometimes a faulty capacitor will prevent rotation when fully loaded but will allow rotation on final spin because the water has drained off making the load lighter.

thanks for the input keithwasherman. checked it out and the drum does turn when making the noise, in fact the machine works perfectly except for the funny sound.
