Cannon Cooker Hot Plates overheating

Hi

Hoping for some advice on the following as google is getting me no where.

I have a Cannon C60ETC cooker.

In the last 12 months one of the back rings when turned over setting 2 overheats. Now it's neighbour does the same.

I cannot find any information regarding this type of fault, if it's a problem with the ceramic radiant element or some kind of thermostat and would really be grateful for any advice given as I'm trying to avoid a big bill and hopefully fix myself.
