Cannot move program selector dial

I have a Samsung B1245 machine that started playing up yesterday.

I selected a program...all went well, the drum filled up etc. Then I paused the program and when I went back to restart it, it wouldn't work. I cannot move the dial round or turn off the machine except via the plug point. It seems to have siezed completely on this program.

I unplugged it and left it over night as the manufacturer suggested but it has not reprogrammed itself.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you switched on the child lock facility by mistake?
