Cannot remove ceiling light fitting

I installed these ceiling lights a few years ago but cannot remember how to remove them.
They are sprung but the springs are not visible (see photos).
Any ideas?

Hard to tell from pics ,but I suspect if you pull the fitting downward, the springs will be more visible and just require the tension released.
 
I can't pull it any lower. The ceiling here is thin plywood. It seems as if the plastic outer parts visible at the extreme two edges of the photo are stopping it.
 
You will need to support the ceiling around the fitting to enable the fitting to be pulled downward ,it's only spring pressure that keeps it held onto the ceiling.

After reading that the hole might not be big enough, I used a junior hacksaw blade to enlarge it one side, then pried it out with a screwdriver. Then I found that this light does not have a replaceable bulb. £13 replacement.
