My mum's front door is an aluminium door with a stubby handle on the outside , no visible screws. Inside is a normal handle with two screws in the handle plate.
The two screws just go round and round and won't undo. I have tried levering the outside plate whilst turning the screws, they just will not undo, just go round and roud - as if the threads are worn out.
This is a union lock fitted inside an ali door, with shoot bolts above and below. The outside and inside spindles are separate so the outside handle is not connected through. In fact the outside stub handle just goes round and round which where the problem lies. The stub handle can be twisted round so it jams against the frame and the door cannot be opened from the inside.
How can I get the handles off ? and how is the outside stub handle connected so it won't go round and round ?
Thanks
