Hi
Had a leak from elbow joint which have now removed and replaced with a flexible pipe with an isolator. (This impressed the missus)
Unfortunately when I took the nut off the tap the plastic tap tail broke off with it. Nett result I can't screw the tap end of the flexible pipe on.
(this produced a grunt from the missus)
I know ,I thought, I take the tap off and referesh the tails by removing the snapped part.
Have fallen at the first hurdle however as I can't get the plastic back nut which holds the tap on, off. Firstly there is no packing so it is recessed right up the basin which means I can't get a basin wrench in there. Have purchase a thinner "tap tool" which does at an angle give some grip but not enough. There is a hell of a lot of crusty gunk around this nut (think it was installed in the 70s)
I've tried loosening the tap but it is not turning at all.
I sure someone is going to say WD40......grateful for any advice. LPG
