Hi all,

Im in the process of cleaning up and re-sealing around our window frames internally and I want to change our window gaskets too as they have discoloured over the years and want some fresh white ones going in.

Only problem is they are proving difficult to budge so im a bit worried that they may not be replaceable?

I have attached a picture below. The double glazed units are removed from the outside so its not even a case of just popping the trims off amd changing that way unfortunately.

I have tried ripping a corner out of a window thats not so visible but it just tears without any of the other bit inside the frame coming out.

Do I have any options at all?

These type of gaskets clip into a groove, you can fiddle them out but it's a faff, Google search 'E gasket' to see, you'll need to remove the glass unit to get your new one in, being E gasket and not 'wedge' gasket also means the external glazing beads are not a security bead so the glass will be held in with security clips under the bead, if I was to guess this is a zenith staybrite window

Thanks for the response. In that case I think ill give it a miss until they ever need replacing :)
