Hi Guys,
I bought a show home from Strata in 2013 which has an alarm fitted. The key pad is a Eurosec CP8L however I can't find details of what make and model the alarm itself may be.

We've never really used the alarm until I tried recently before a holiday and I found a "Mains flt" error.

Last night I tried to resolve this fault and took a guess at the code being either 1234 or 5678 as Strata never wrote it down. I managed to remove the fault using the guidance in the manual however the alarm then set. I can't now unset the alarm and I'm presented with the following message.

I assume "Set 3" is zone 3 which relates to downstairs (3 story house) as every time the front door is opened or we enter the kitchen; the alarm resounds.

To get around this I've taped over the motion sensors and removed the front door sensor and taped it to the pick up to fool the alarm into thinking the door is still shut.

No matter what I press; I can't change the message on the display.

Any ideas on how I can reset the system before I have to resort calling an alarm engineer?

Thanks all

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem. I moved into my new house a couple of months ago and went to try the alarm today. I followed the instructions left by the previous owner and set the alarm using the 'quick' key. However upon entering the property the code left by the previous owner did not work and I cannot unset the alarm! I'm struggling to find an engineer to attend today so I'd be interested to know what your solution was!

Cheers

Need to know make of control panel ?
Is it a eurosec ?
If it is a eurosec the only way around no customer code is to crash/factory default the codes.
If the control panel is engineer locked the the control panel is useless.
You will only know if it is locked if it will not default to the standard default codes

Hi,

Yes it is a Eurosec CP8L. I ended up getting an engineer in who pulled a fuse from the panel and re-programmed the keypad. Seems the code left by the previous owner was not correct!

Thanks

I know it's an old thread, but I have similar issue with my cp8l alarm, it was off at the fuse box when I moved in, when I switch the power on, it says set on the control panel and I don't have a code to unset, so alarm triggers and I flick it off at fusebox again.. Also I assume battery is dead as the alarm doesn't continue to sound when I flick the power off

Manuals are available online, should be able to rest the codes all being well unless it’s locked.

I tried the manual, but the reset seemed to be from an alarm unset position , where mine is set when I power it up

Struggling as the alarm keeps going off so i have to turn it off each time, I try pressing 147x but it still says set

How far away is the panel from the keypad ? As you have to put in the 147x while it’s booting up ….you may need Someone to power it up while your at the keypad or wire the keypad onto the panel

Ahh I put 147 in after it said set, I can reach fuse box and panel pretty much at same time
So I need ti input 147x as its booting up?
After I've done that, what next, as there are 2 more numbers in the manual, 5678 and 1234?
