I have a V reg Megane coupe 1.6 sport! driving on motorway it died on me, now engine wont start but am getting a spark to plugs!! (have checked that) all dash lights ok and when i try to start it, it turns over but will not start!! Might not mean anything but have noticed when i try to start it the fuel gauge shoots down to zero!! Can anyone help me

If you definately have a spark, then it's fuel related.

Are you sure the cam belt has not snapped?
Big money if it has.

Thanks, Cam belt seems ok!! have fuel all the way up to the injectors (i think that is what they are) then the fuel goes no further so i think it is something to do with the sensors but havent got a clue how to start looking!!

A fault code readout should point you in the right direction (even if it won't start).

Having established there is a spark and fuel present, then the sensors that could be causing the fault are mass air flow sensor, crankshaft sensor or camshaft position sensor, or temperature sensor.
Without having fault codes read, then it's really a trial and error process, it could be an immoblliser fault too.
Please keep us updated, when you do eventually find the cause of the problem.
