i have a nissan micra and the heater doesnt work properly also it has just started overheating and loosing its coolent. is this the head gasket & how easy/difficult is it to repair?

Easy if you are a mechanic probably a bit more difficult if you are a roofer

Ask a mod to move this thread to cars or car maintaince.

It's the head gasket and it'll need the head skimming. Not easy for an amateur.

Yup "lead gasket" nothing a bit of silicone, the universal fixit wont solve

Just make sure you use good quality slate in the repair, and try to source a time served specialist slater. With a big pointy hammer.

Don't forget the safety aspect of accessing the area for repair.
Scaffold, restrained ladders, etc.
