I drive a 2000 Renault Clio S, with the stock stereo (nothing fancy,I know). I use a Belkin FM transmitter which allows me to play my ipod through the radio and car speakers.
Last week I hit play on my ipod and the stereo just cut out and no longer showed up on the display, though the clock still shows. I tried the fuse but that was fine. There still seems to be power going to the stereo as the buttons still light up.
Also, when I removed the stereo from its position the stereo came back on for just a second, and then it happened again when I went over a bump on the road, but only for a few seconds.
I want to buy a new stereo anyway, but is there any easy way to determine if this is a wiring isue ,rather than the stereo itself, as I don't want to replace it just to have the same problem.
Thanks!
