Hi all,

I’m an electrician, and I’ve got to fit a outside socket from a static caravan.

I’m apprehensive drill through a wall or floor, it’s brand new. Any advice from someone who has done it before on a static?

The wiring and install is no issue.

TIA

Loads if spare ways in the DB. So could come out of that and through the floor?

Is this socket to be fitted on the outside of the caravan, or the wall of the house/garage?

Aah. I think i see. Its a Park home sort of thing. With its own mains supply, and your client wants an external mains socket?

Not sure whether you mean a leisure static or a residential park home.
If residential, they usually have "meter tails for shed" already under the home, so they can run underneath the home to the skirting and the external socket can be fixed to the skirting (assuming is the usual brick) so no need to drill the walls or floor.
If your client wants things drilled through the walls (a) make sure they are very well sealed, and (b) make sure client is aware that this may invalidate the manufacturer warranty (any get-out possible...).

Slightly different scenario but I was asked to install various kit in some leased portakabins, they gave me a list of do's and don'ts, definitely no penetration of inner or outer skins

Thanks all

Its a static caravan on a holiday park…I’ll have a good look and see if there are tails. Yes they want it fitted on the skirting. I think going through the floor is the best bet and easiest to seal as well.

Could you fit a post into the ground next to the caravan?
Then come through the floor and up to the post?

There is a fence directly behind I can attach the socket. Think I’ll go through the floor and use sealant and a grommet and come from the DB. Tight to fit SWA like…

I won’t bury it.. I think I can come underneath straight to the fence or a post.
If they want it on the skirting why are you talking about a fence or post?
