I have a Carina E hatchback.

A bottle of Worcester Sauce leaked in the boot. It smells quite strong. It has soaked into the carpet. I thought I would be able to lift out the boot carpet and give it a scrub and hose, but it is a continuous piece which folds up and goes on the back of the rear seats. It does not look like it comes off them.

I am thinking I will have to cut it along the fold where it goes from the boot floor to the seat backs.

Any suggestions?

You could put a sheet of polythene under it and scrub it in place, then give it a good hoovering with a wet/dry vacuum cleaner to remove most of the moisture, then if secure leave the boot open for a few hours to air dry the rest. :)

yes, I have an Aquavac but it is not at home, I can collect it in about a week.

I's cut it too, with a stanley knife and a brand new blade. Once it is out you can blast it with a pressure washer and it will come up like new.
