carpet grippers?

How close do i need to fit the gripper to the skirting board,do they butt up or do i leave a clearance,also do i use double sided tape for concete around the fire place,dont really want to nail or screw,or is there a special tape i need to use.

why not lift an existing fitted carpet to find out ?

usually its 1/4 -1/2 inch

Leave gripper about 1/4" away from wall so carpet can be tucked into the gap to give a neat finish. Over concrete you can pull out the nails from the gripper and glue the gripper to the concrete with something like gripfill.
