Carpet to carpet door bar

Hi guys,

Looking to replace these ugly looking wood door bars with some chrome.

What the best thing to use?

Obviously normally the bedroom carpet would have been further across and a normal gripper bar could have been used. Hallway carpet is new.

You'll struggle to find something that covers the gap between the two carpets, but have a look at the posh55 cover plates in Stairods Uk Ltd's ranging. The Premier doubles won't bridge that gap unless there's quite a bit of stretch in the carpets.

Ok thanks. Will be easier when we replace the bedroom carpets but not something I want to spend out on at the mo.

Unfortunately the Landing carpets are short so unless you replace the landing or don't mind the bar showing under one side of the doorway, you may need to compromise.

Recently had the carpet on the landing done.

When the fitter was doing it he was going to a normal gripper but like you say it would have protruded into the bedrooms so didnt want that.

Rub the current ones down and spray paint to give metal effect? Bad idea?

Or have some square bar cut to size, polished and lacquered to same dimensions of existing wood profiles?
