Carpet underlay - 9mm or 11mm

Hi,

I'm buying some Cloud 9 underlay for my living room, but I'm not sure whether to get 9mm or 11mm.

I read a previous post on this forum that 11mm is too, and can distort the carpet. Is this true?

We have quite thick carpet that we are going to install .

Yes as it sits next to grippers better.
