Hi, just wondering if anyone can give me some advice?
I've enlarged my hole back to the builders opening to install a new cast iron inset gas fire.
The mistake I've made (I think) is to wallpaper near to the opening with the idea that the fire would neatly fit up against the wallpaper and I would just seal round the edges.
I've looked online at how to fit the fire and the advice seems to be that it needs to be fitted upto the brickwork then plastered round the edges.
Is there anyway I can fit the fireplace safely without taking it back to the brickwork?
I plan to do the the work then have it certified by a gas safe engineer.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Rob
