cat ladders (advice please)

hi all
i am after some cat ladders for some upcoming jobs i have, the properties i will be working on are mainly terrace houses and semi-detatched ex-council houses i will be putting boiler flues in and lining chimneys could some kind soul advise me on what size to get i have been looking at an extendable 3.6m closed and 5.6 when open do you think this will be long enough? i am a little restricted regarding closed length due to storage and carrage on my little kangoo van

What lengths are the roofs?You do not want a cat ladder thats way too long.If too much is hanging over the eaves it can work like a see saw
