Catnic above new garage opening

We are having a new garage built adjacent to the house. We will then have a pitched roof on the garage, which will extend across the existing porch.

Can 1 catnic be used to span both the garage and the porch, which will be a total of approximately 5m, but will sit on a brick wall at about 3.1m across?

Also. there is a metal pole in the other corner of the porch, could this be used as a support for the catnic?
