I have read in many posts that corners where lining paper meets should be caulked prior to painting. Does this also apply when the lining paper is to be covered with wallpaper.
Any replies appreciated.
I'm not a pro, but I would say no. The idea is to get a perfect blend between, say, wall and ceiling, which you can't do with lining paper alone, especially if the walls are not brand new. A thin bead of caulk smoothed down with the finger gives a nice clean finish..
If you're papering on top, don't caulk the lining paper beforehand. You could caulk the top of the pattern paper if you're confident you can leave a clean, neat job. Otherwise, just take care cutting the paper to leave a good join. I recommend a metal craft ruler (angled edge) and a scalpel (no.10 blade).

im a painter my way to solve this wouldnt to be to use caulk [painters mate] i would give it a quick skin off filler and a ruff sand remember filling & taping is nothing like plastering.... u slap it on and sand it till your happy with the funish
