Hi All,
I would love to get some help. I’m a total amateur DIYer, but comfortable caulking inside edges. I’ve got an issue though - I had a renovation done and my builder whacked the plinth outside of the bath tub. Now, this may have been fine but the awful plinth that came with the board isn’t very waterproof and is cracking up badly. Looks terrible and at some point I’m worried it’ll come apart.
I thought about simply applying duct tape, then I tried the silicone sealing tape stuff, however, it was huge and ugly so I ripped it off. So, I ask you kindly, is there a way to caulk this outside edge effectively to cover the cracks (so it doesn’t look super ugly and maintains). It gets occasional water on it due to the shower but I think it’s mainly coming apart due to moisture. I’ve attached a couple of photos!
NB. My builder has attempted to caulk this twice and was unsuccessful, although this might be due to him not really understanding the issue.
Thanks in advance!
