Caustic soda in washing machine?

Hi guys,

Wonder if anyone can help, last week my dad put in a small capful of caustic soda in the washing machine's soap dispenser, though I did tell him not to, since then we've rinsed the machine several times.

I have been worrying whether it's safe to wash clothes or not now?, does anyone have an answer?.
