Hi, I am having work done on a property and a friend who is in the trade has questioned the cavity closer by the bifold doors and windows in the extension. The builder looks like he has bricked up the cavity closer, is this acceptable to pass building regulations? I’ve attached pictures.

Thanks

The brick is presumably the cavity closer, or is the concern that it doesn’t match the drawings?

There appears to be a wee bit going on there that is structurally unconventional. It looks to me like those piers (masonry panels) are very slender, in particular the return corner. Have the piers been (SE) designed? Structural requirements supersede thermal.

Is there DPC separation at the jamb reveal abutments?

My BCO was very happy to see my cavities closed with blockwork in the opening for my patio doors.

Just make sure damp proofing & insulation is covered as mentioned above.
