Cavity Wall Insulation & damp

We are considering cavity wall insulation to stop unwanted drafts and to get our moneys worth from our central heating. HOWEVER have heard a number of people complaining about getting damp once the insulation has been carried out?

Can anyone advise further/give us any tips?

There unfortunately is a bad stigma with certain types of insulation. The polystyrene insulation they pump through the cavity is where people claim of damp. Of course there is no proof that it causes damp, but if you think about it all those little balls congested can cause a bridge if water is getting in from your external wall, it is unlikely but possible. The other methods are external insulation, or internal insulation (can be quite costly as you would need to frame or batten your walls and replasterboard and skim). I would contact a specialist which gives a guarantee. Try kingspan.
