Hi.

I am about to buy Zxtech CCTV cameras. They are the DOME type. The depth of my front garden is approximately 3.40 Metres. What I seek to know is whether the lens can be lowered enough so they don not project beyond the front boundary.

Also, in one case, the distance from one camera to the DVR will be less than the supplied cable length: by a few Metres. So, how can I deal with the excess?.

Thanks for any ideas.

Don't know what camera specifics are, ie resolution lens size, wide angle lens probably not, but it will also depend on how high you are mounting it.

If they come with pre made cables I doubt they are up to much, you been recommended them?

Check the capability of the cameras and the recording resolution and frame rate of the DVR/NVR.

Always buy the cameras for the job you want them to do. Where possible look at You tube footage of day and night footage and consider the amount of light they have in the video compared to what you have at home.

Thank you for your response. The cameras are, Zxtech 8mp 4K UHD 30M Night Vision 2.8 12mm Varifocal Dome. Lens: From narrow to wide 2.8 to 12mm.

I actually thought of buying the cable and making up the connections. Don't wish to bore you, but would you know whether with this type it would be possible ?.

These the 4 in one cameras if so the output of the camera is 15fps which is fine but what can the recorder record.

You may find supplied cables thin not seen them so can’t say and thin ones easily damaged and often difficult to cut down and re terminate well, certainly can make up your own cables as it’s varifocal dome the angle is very flexible and you can zoom in. Have to admit never heard of them or seen them in operation so can’t really advise beyond that

2.8 is wide and 12mm is narrow.

I think you will be extremely disappointed with these, not sure how the can even have a 8MP lite cameras output 3840 x 2160, at 15fps.

it records half the width of the image and half the frame rate? 1920 x 2160 at 8fps a full 5MP at 6fps

be interesting to see for information but i would say AVOID IT!
