Hi
I’ve got an 8 channel Annke DVR with 6 analogue dome cameras, all has been ok however one of them stopped displaying an image some time ago, tried Bnc cable in another port but still the same so assume it is the camera that is faulty. I’m looking at replacing the camera but noticed an issue when I connected the power connector from the 8 way splitter to the power cable that runs to the camera, all the other cameras playback has flickering like a pulsing, can’t say I recall that being the case when the camera was working and it has been unplugged for over 6 months so not sure if it did-I only plugged it in today to see if it was still faulty, as I’ve got 5 other cameras it means there are 3 free power connectors on the 8 way splitter- I’ve tried all three on the bad camera and every time it causes all the others to flicker. If it isn’t a bad camera could it be that the bnc cable outside runs along a 4 core cable that feeds a security light? Have read that coaxial and AC
Cables should be kept at a distance-I’m not sure if it is this though as firstly I can’t recall it being a problem to begin with and secondly another camera has its cable running along side the ac cable as well and that is ok. The only difference is the cable on the bad camera is a premade bnc/power cable I got off Amazon where as all the other cables were made up during the install by the installer-this was because I had 5 cameras fitted and then I added one myself sometime later.

I intend to, just can’t sure if I needed to replace the cable and route away from the flood light cable to prevent interference-as I said though I can’t recall it previously being a problem

Bought a new Annke adl500 camera and premade cable, plugged in to test but same issue. No image or light on camera and all others flicker. Tried a different bnc port on dvr and power port on 8 way splitter but same issue. If power port that was working for one camera is not working on new camera then assume that rules psu out? Can’t make sense of it

The flickering might be related to the power supply, especially since it's affecting all the other cameras when you plug in the bad one. It's good that you're checking the distance between the BNC cable and the AC line; interference can sometimes cause issues.
Did think same thing as cable outside is next to flood light cable however New cable is next to dvr as testing, so it is away from everything

I unplugged all 4 cameras from splitter and just plugged in the new camera and it lit up and I heard the switch inside come on, get a
Pic now so it must be psu not powerful enough to supply cameras. What size psu do I need? Annke only sell 4 way splitters so would need two from them but as I have an 8 way splitter I will just get a high enough amp psu. Odd as 5th camera had been working for 6 months before no pic and the rest flickering, wonder if psu has deteriorated? Also would think when I plug the 5th in that I would get no pics rather than 4 and one not working as surly the power is going to then all simultaneously rather than one being starved?

Just get another psu?

The cameras are rated at what for power multiply it up and a margin of say 20% should leave it comfortable, if your looking at one psu.
