Cctv In Loft

Hi,
Am new to this so bear with me, I've bought 2 Cctv camera's and a dvr, 1 camera to the back of my house and 1 to the front, am going to wire it all to the so it's in my loft, the big question is once I've wired them to the dvr, how do I connect it to my phone with out using ethernet cable as it will be a ball ache getting wire from kitchen to loft, am not using a monitor just want it to connect to mobile phone, I've looked and seen wireless LAN converters and USB wireless sticks, has any one else used these or any one got a different idea? I could do, any help appreciated cheers

Wiring via cat5/6 would be best way.
You could use powerline adaptor,but this will depend on your ring main configuration.

That’s how I have mine. Not sure what you mean about the ring main configuration as I have powerline adaptors on three different ring mains in my house and they all work fine - much to Bernard Greens consternation! (I’m sure he'll be on here soon giving his view).

* You will probably need a monitor for setting up purposes - I used a small flat screen tv from the bedroom as the monitor initially for the setup but now up there permanently as I bought a new tv for the bedroom.

Some powerline adaptors do not work correctly when used with rcbo's or when on different sides of rcd's. Only making you aware that you could have an issue and may need to configure differently. I didn't say it would not work

I have also experienced problems with different ring mains. It is not recommended just like you shouldn’t have the power line adaptor connected to a extension lead. Will it still work? Probably, will you experience problems? Maybe. If you was running something that required constant connection like VOIP or gaming for instances these are the cases you will probably see issues. Viewing your CCTV once in a blue moon will probably show nothing wrong.
