As per the topic my garage block has currently 2 normal wired swann 720 cameras. After advice from here i bought a hikvision turbo 8 channel dvr and a purple hd. They work very well and the user interface is very intuitive.
My garage is fed by a 10mm armoured from the house it is quite a distance 42mtrs. I have established a homeplug mains network through the armoured with a wifi extender. I have tested the speed and i get 36mbs a second 3.4mbs second over the fibre internet (mbs not mbits). So quite a good throughput.
What i propose to do is add 2 wifi ip cameras to the front of the house to cover my works van.
I'm just not entirely sure how i go about this?
Is there any proprietary monitoring software that would allow me to do this.
Ive looked at the logitech system and no this is possible.
Oh my dvr does have support for 2 ip cameras. the dvr is sited near the cameras in the garage.
