celsia f1 bangs and shuts down

hi there, can someone help me with this. i have started up my boiler the celsia f1 and it fires up ok but about 40 seconds it bangs and shuts off I noticed coming out of the top of the boiler is two pipes either side one has a sqaure nut on the bend with a hose stub. i ve put a hose pipe on this spout and loosened the sqaure nut then pressure seems to build up ,masses of steam and water from the hose pipe, boiler throws the ignition button out, bangs then goes off..please help

if its a sealed system then you have no water in it, open system would be a pump problem. (but dont quote me on these)

thanks mick how would i fill it with water? i have a water cylinder in a cupboard that has a pressure meter on it , is that to do with it?

quite possibly, you should have one of these somewhere

usually near the gauge.

turn on the tap(s) watch gague, stop at 1bar, bleed rads, check pressure and top up as required.

ok mick, i have seen the dial it was way down. undone the pictured taps , up shot the pressure to 1 bar heating came on about40 secs and just clicked off no bang,i released the sqaure nut loads of hissing for about 15 secs i tightened up the nut and had to re turn the taps to get the presure back to 1 bar

so now it fires up for about 30 secs then i have just the click as the reset button jumps out. can anyone help please

are all rads bled of all air, and possibly a bleed valve on flow to cylinder.

turn stat on boiler to No. 1 (for now)

then check pump is working.

when was system last used?

It could be, because of lack of pressure, that the pump has partially seized. Refer to FAQ's

it was used until mid summer just for hot water.

ok checked the pump it seems very hot , above it the pipe is not so hot my pump has like a black disc that screws into the centre i undone as far as i could and a little water trickled from it the boiler is on 1 setting and nothing is happening with it not coming on ..

Sounds like a Myson pump. When you unscrew the Black plastic nut, does it spin? Can you force it to spin - ie. hold it tight and force it anti clock-wise? If not, there is a technical term for it.............it's Donald
