Cement board

Hi,

Would this cement board be suitable for boarding out my fire opening which will then have a log burning stove in it?

If so, can I dot & dab it on with normal dry wall adhesive?

Also, what would you suggest that I skim over it with? Obviously I cannot use normal multi finish because of the heat.
