Cement for installing marble fireplace

Hi,
I am wanting to install a marble fireplace and I am wondering if I need a specific type of cement. The fireplace is a whiteish colour so it would need to match. Or can I just use any tile type cement. I will be installing a Balanced Flue fire with sealed glass front into the surround. A qualified gas installer will be doing the gas connections and safety checks.

I was told to use white cement on marble or liestone, the standard grey can stain it.
